“If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not.” Young Joseph Smith read that verse from the Bible and the history of this world was indisputably and dramatically altered. Now it may be assumed that everyone in 1820 had a Bible and that they had always been there—and in English, but of course that was not the case. This episode of History of the Saints tells the story of the Bible from the original authors to the time of Joseph Smith.
