The Mormon Battalion endured one of the longest marches in United States military history; a grueling trek of some 2000 miles from the Missouri River to the Pacific Ocean. They arrived January 27, 1847. In our previous shows we told you the story of the Battalion’s march and of the sick detachments sent to Pueblo. In this episode we continue the story of the Mormon Battalion and their work in California.
