Description
The death of Joseph Smith dissolved the First Presidency and Church leadership was assumed by the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The Apostles met at Orson Hyde’s home December 5, 1847 to discuss the reorganization of the First Presidency. Revelation is received by the Apostles appointing Brigham Young as Prophet, Seer, and Revelator. The First Presidency is presented and sustained December 27, 1847 in the new log tabernacle at Kanesville.
