Description
The call went out in 1848 for the Saints around the world to gather to the Salt Lake Valley. The First Presidency led a very large company in three groups from the Missouri River to the Salt Lake Valley. In late May 1848 the crickets attacked the Saints in the Salt Lake Valley. The gulls descended on the fields and for three weeks devoured the crickets, thus saving the settlers from total disaster. In late 1848 more emigrants enter the Valley.
