Description

The First Presidency is the highest presiding Quorum in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The President of the Church is sustained as a Prophet Seer and Revelator as are the members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Now today Latter-day Saints have grown accustomed to the workings of Church government when a Prophet dies, but there was a day and time when it was not always so. The death of Joseph Smith was a devastating emotional blow, but it led the membership of the Church to a deeper understanding of and commitment to the revelations of the Almighty regarding presiding priesthood authority.
