Description
October 4, 1856, Franklin D. Richards arrived in Salt Lake City and told President Brigham Young that there were handcart emigrants still out on the plains. Elder Richards noted a movement among the people. He called it a work of reformation and a thorough waking up. He noted that among its cheering effects was that when President Young called for volunteers to go out on the Plains and rescue the endangered emigrants people responded with vigor and enthusiasm. Elder Richards said that this reformation must reach the habitation of every Saint in Utah, and then extend to every Mission and Branch of the Church throughout the earth.” This episode of History of the Saints is about the Great Mormon Reformation.
