Season 5 Show 10 The Mobbing of the Prophet

It was somewhere on the ground of Hiram, Ohio and the John Johnson home that sometime on the night of March 25, 1832 that Joseph Smith was attacked by a mob bent on seriously harming him if not killing him.  Before the night was through he would be savagely beaten and tarred and feathered. This vicious attack left Joseph with permanent scars and lasting injuries. To understand why this happened we need to go back to February 16, 1832 when Joseph and Sidney Rigdon were working on the translation of the Bible here in the translation room in the Johnson Home in Hiram Ohio.
