Description
The Latter-day Saints were driven from Jackson County Missouri in 1833 by violent mobs. They remained in Clay County, Missouri until July 1836 when they began purchasing land in northern Missouri. Then when the citizens of Clay County ordered the Mormons out in the summer of 1836, the Saints began moving north onto new and open land that would become Far West and Adam-ondi-Ahman. Caldwell County was created in December 1836 by the Missouri legislature as a place set aside for the Mormons. This episode of History of the Saints tells the fascinating story of the founding of Far West, and those first dramatic months.
