Season 5 Episode 21 The Beginnings of the Kirtland Temple

The story of the initial construction of the House of the Lord in Kirtland, Ohio.

The Holy Temple! Since the earliest days of the House of Israel it has been the center of worship and society for God’s people; Moses’ Tabernacle, Solomon’s Temple, the Temple of Herod and so forth. And as to the last days, the Lord spoke through Malachi saying, “The Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple” (Malachi 3:1). As Isaiah said, “It shall come to pass in the last days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the tops of mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it” (Isaiah 2:2) Clearly there were portents of Temples to be built again before the Lord comes. In this episode we talk about the beginnings of Temple worship in the Restoration.
