Description
Joseph Smith loved the Holy Bible and taught from it his entire life. In his youth he spoke of a war of words and a tumult of opinions among the religionists of 1820, their conflict centering in part on Bible interpretations. Though the Bible was in a measure a battle ground still it was holy ground for Joseph. It was through James 1:5 that the heavens were opened to him. Then in the course of translating the Book of Mormon he learned that many plain and precious truths had been taken from the Bible and must needs be restored, and that is our story—the story of the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible.
