Description
Far West, Missouri was settled by the Latter-day Saints beginning in 1836. It became the headquarters of the Church in March 1838 when the First Presidency located there from Kirtland, Ohio. And though it is startling how little remains of the Saint’s presence there today, Far West was a gathering place and important period of Church history, albeit brief.
